According to an announcement made by the team on Saturday, the Jets have extended long snapper Thomas Hennessey’s current deal by four years. Ralph Vacchiano of SNY estimates that the transaction might be worth up to $4.4 million, with one million dollars of that amount being guaranteed.

According to another report by Adam Schefter, Hennessy’s new four-year deal is worth a total of $4.4 million and comes with a signing bonus of $625,000 and a guaranteed amount of $1.15 million.

After going undrafted out of Duke, the 25-year-old then signed with the Colts, but the Jets were able to obtain his services through trade in May of 2017 before he even played a game for the Colts. Since then, he has continued to serve as the team’s long snapper without missing a single game.

Additionally, Hennessey is a native of the area; he attended Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey, for his high school football career.

In August of 2017, Indianapolis sent him on his way to New York in exchange for defensive end Ronald Martin.

Hennessy has been on the field for the Jets for all three of their games thus far in 2019. Since being traded to New York, he has not missed a single game in that time.
