Tim Patrick and Marsi Lovett welcomed Patrick into the world in San Diego, California. He participated in high school football with the Centurions at University City High School in San Diego.
Tim was raised by his mother, his older brother, and his younger sister in a single-parent household. Patrick attended and played for Grossmont Community College in El Cajon, California, before transferring to the University of Utah.
During his three seasons at Utah, Patrick played in 22 games, starting 23, and finished with 61 receptions for 888 yards and five touchdowns.
