Trevor signed with the team this time and he was given $800,000 as a signing bonus. The Yankees assigned him to play for the Gulf Coast Yankees of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League that same season for him to make his professional debut.

He was promoted to the Staten Island Yankees of the Class A Short Season New York-Penn League that same season. During the 2020 Rule 5 draft, the Cleveland Indians chose him from the Yankees. He made his MLB debut on April 3 2021 for the Indians.
