Troy Andersen, a former standout football player for Montana State University, has signed a contract to play for the Atlanta Falcons.



According to an announcement made by Atlanta on Wednesday, Andersen has signed his rookie contract with the team.

Both the Falcons and Andersen’s agent did not immediately respond to a request for information regarding the specifics of the contract that Andersen signed with the Falcons. Rookie contracts for players selected in the NFL Draft are guaranteed to be for a period of four years.



According to OverTheCap.com, the total value of the deal that Andersen is involved in is approximately $6.49 million.

OverTheCap and Spotrac.com both estimate that Andersen will earn a base salary of $705,000 in 2022. Meanwhile, Spotrac.com projects that Andersen will receive a signing bonus of $404,740 in 2022.

Andersen was chosen by Atlanta with the 58th overall pick in the second round of the draft that took place a month ago.

The Falcons will line him up at inside linebacker, the same position he played for the Bobcats during his senior year when he earned All-American and defensive player of the year honors.
