What Is Tyrone Taylor Salary: How Much Does Tyrone Taylor Make?

For the time being, the Milwaukee Brewers will have to make do without one of their finest backups. Tyrone Taylor left the game early in the second inning after experiencing oblique tightness.

Manager Craig Counsell announced after the game that Taylor would have to miss the rest of the season due to an injury, and the Brewers made that decision official this afternoon.

With Lorenzo Cain healthy and Christian Yelich recovering from his COVID-19 bout, Taylor’s playing time had diminished recently, but the 27-year-old has been given reasonably regular playing time with Milwaukee throughout the season and has usually made the most of it.

Taylor hit .245/.324/.453 with a 107 OPS+ in 238 plate appearances over 82 games, with 10 home runs and five stolen bases.

According to Defensive Runs Saved, the versatile outfielder has played all three positions and received favorable grades in each.

“We’re going to miss him,” Counsell said after last night’s game to reporters. “Hopefully he’ll only be gone for a short period and get back to us.”

Eric Yardley, a sidearming right-hander, is returning to the major leagues to fill the void, at least for the time being.

Yardley has failed at the MLB level this year after playing a key role in the bullpen during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

In 2021, he pitched in 17 games with the Brewers, covering 18.2 innings and posting a 6.75 ERA. In that time, Yardley has walked 10 batters while striking out only five.

His performance at Triple-A was significantly better, with a 3.65 ERA in 26 games and 24.2 innings pitched, and a 21:6 K/BB ratio. This will be Yardley’s first appearance in the major leagues since June.
