Hayden Biegel, who is his younger brother, was an offensive tackle at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Biegel was raised on a cranberry marsh near Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin that was established in 1919 by his mother’s ancestors; he, his brother, and his sister are the fifth generation of the family to have worked the farm.

Biegel was given the name Vince after the legendary coach of the Green Bay Packers, Vince Lombardi. While he was growing up, he spent a lot of time working on the farm in the marsh, but as his football career progressed, he was able to spend less time there.

During Biegel’s senior season, the defensive end recorded 172 tackles, 21 sacks, three interceptions, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns.

In addition to being selected for the 2011 USA Today All-USA high school football team, he was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association and the 2011 Gatorade State Player of the Year in Wisconsin. He was also a member of the 2011 Gatorade All-American Team.
