In 2022, he made his Major League Baseball debut. Melbourne Central Catholic High School, where Capra was a member of the Hustlers’ state championship basketball team, is where he received his secondary education.
At Eastern Florida State College, he began his collegiate baseball career. He joined the Richmond Spiders after transferring to the University of Richmond.
For the Spiders in 2017, Capra batted.356 with four home runs and 19 RBIs. After that, he played 48 games in the West Coast League, which is a college summer league.
Capra hit.327 with five home runs, 41 RBIs and nine stolen bases in his final season with the Spiders in 2018. Joe Capra was picked by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.
He began his career with the Vancouver Canadians of the Short Season-A and eventually moved on to the Lansing Lugnuts of the Class-A. Capra batted.248 in 64 games, driving in 22 runs and stealing nine bags.
On April 29, 2022, the Blue Jays called Capra up to the big leagues. On May 1, he made his MLB debut.
