He turned down offers from other colleges in favor of attending the University of Miami, where he would play college football for the Miami Hurricanes.
He had an outstanding first season as a true freshman in 2016, starting at linebacker in 11 of the 13 games and recording 37 tackles. He also had one blocked punt, two pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, and 3.5 tackles for loss. He participated in all 13 games as a sophomore in 2017, made 11 starts, and recorded 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.
He was a crucial member of the team’s defense during that season and was once selected ACC Co-Linebacker of the Week. He started nine of his 13 games as a junior in 2018 and played in all of them. He finished the season with a winning total of 44 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. He took part in four games as a senior in 2019, made one start, and racked up nine tackles and one PBU.
He was one of the team’s four captains before to the season as a redshirt senior in 2020, starting eight of his nine games. By the end of the season, he had made a total of 27 tackles, two of which were sacks. The Denver Broncos signed him as a free agent after he went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft.
