Zach Pop is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021.
The Canadian city of Brampton was home to Pop’s education at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School. However, he did not sign with the Toronto Blue Jays after being selected by them in the 23rd round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft. Instead, he attended the University of Kentucky to play baseball for their collegiate team.
During the summer of 2016, he was a member of the Wareham Gatemen baseball team, which competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
During the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected Pop in the seventh round of the draft. He signed with the AZL Dodgers and made his first appearance in the major leagues with them, pitching five innings in which there were no runs scored.
In 2018, he began the year playing for the Great Lakes Loons and then was traded to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes later in the year.
