After making a verbal commitment to play collegiate football for the University of Miami, he ultimately decided to transfer to the University of Utah.

In 2016, Moss was a freshman at Utah and participated in all 10 games, starting three of them. He had 84 carries, which he used to gain 382 yards and score two scores.

In 2017, as a sophomore, he started 12 of the team’s 13 games and rushed for 1,173 yards on 214 carries, scoring 10 touchdowns in the process. In 2018, when Moss was a junior, he began the season by starting the first nine games of the season before suffering a knee injury in practice that ended his season.
