In the wake of the 2022 NFL Draft, the New York Jets signed NC State running back Zonovan Knight to a free agency deal.
Even though he had to compete for playing time in the backfield during his whole career with Ricky Person Jr. and Jordan Houston, Knight still managed to lead the Wolfpack in running with more than 750 yards in each of his three seasons in Raleigh.
Knight completed his career with 419 carries for 2,286 yards (5.46 ypc) and 18 touchdowns, in addition to 49 receptions for 337 yards.
However, Knight was one of the top kickoff return men in the country in addition to being a running back for the Pack. Knight averaged 30.8 yards per return on 30 kickoffs for 923 total yards and three touchdowns in his final two seasons at State.
Knight was named to the 2021 CBS Sports All-American Team for his efforts on the field. A major factor in Knight’s decision to forego his final year of eligibility with the Pack was his impact on special teams.
