Aaron Hicks confirmed to a reporter for the New York Post on October 11 that he would be playing in the ALCS matchup with the Houston Astros.
The Yankees declared the next day that they had added Hicks to the roster in place of Luke Voit and that they had reactivated him from the 60-day injured list.
