American professional baseball outfielder Chas Kane McCormick currently plays for the Houston Astros in Major League Baseball.

He was a member of the Millersville Marauders baseball team in college. His selection by the Astros as the 21st overall pick in that year’s amateur draft. It was 2021 when he made his MLB debut.

Robert and Nancy Jo McCormick raised him in West Chester, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Henderson High School (now West Chester High School),



he became the first student-athlete in school history to earn 1,000 points in basketball and smash 100 home runs in baseball. He was also a four-time member of the All-Ches-Mont League team.

In 2017, the Houston Astros selected McCormick in the 21st round of the Major League Baseball Draft. He agreed to accept a signing bonus in the amount of $1,000.

He was recognized as an All-Star for the Houston Organization by MiLB.com in 2019. His statistics in the minor leagues until 2019, which included 1,126 plate appearances, put him with a batting average of.276/.360/.400 with 20 home runs and 41 steals.

He was selected to the wild-card playoff squad for the Astros in 2020.  After the Astros completed their three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins in the wild-card round, McCormick was not included on the playoff roster and did not make an appearance in the postseason.

Cormick made his major league baseball debut on April 1, 2021, against the Oakland Athletics. He entered the game as a defensive replacement for Michael Brantley.

On April 4, when he was playing Yusmeiro Petit, he hit his first home run of the season.  In 284 at-bats during the 2021 season, he had a batting line of.257/.319/.447 with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs.
