Dobnak went to South Park High School in Pennsylvania’s South Park Township. Dobnak played college baseball for the Battlers of NCAA Division II Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia.

Dobnak signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on August 1, 2017, for a signing bonus of $500, based on YouTube recordings of his outings — the Twins never scouted him in person.

In 2017, he split time between the Elizabethton Twins and the Cedar Rapids Kernels, going 2–0 with a 2.43 ERA in 33 innings.

Dobnak returned to Cedar Rapids in 2018 and was 10–5 with a 3.14 ERA in 129 innings pitched.

Dobnak has been driving for Uber and Lyft since October 2017, according to his LinkedIn profile, and he’s a great driver with a “4.99/5 Uber driver rating,” according to his Twitter profile.
