Nelson Efamehule Agholor is a wide receiver with the New England Patriots of the National Football League who wears jersey number 15 for the team. He played collegiate football at USC until the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He played for the Eagles for five seasons, winning Super Bowl LII during that time. Before joining the Patriots, Agholor spent one season playing for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Agholor, who was born in Lagos, Nigeria, emigrated to the US when he was five years old. He participated in the Berkeley Buccaneers’ running back, wide receiver, and defensive back teams while attending Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Agholor with the 20th overall choice in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. On May 7, 2015, he agreed to a four-year deal with an estimated value of $9.4 million and a $5.1 million signing bonus.
Agholor and the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to a one-year contract on March 25, 2020. Tyrell Williams, Zay Jones, Hunter Renfrow, and rookie wide receivers Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards competed against Agholor for the starting wide receiver position going into training camp.
On March 19, 2021, Agholor and the New England Patriots reached an agreement on a $26 million, two-year deal. Agholor caught his first touchdown throw from Mac Jones against the Miami Dolphins.
