After graduating from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Gomber pursued his education at Florida Atlantic University. For the Florida Atlantic Owls, he played college sports. He is currently 28 years old and was born on November 23, 1993.

The St. Louis Cardinals picked Gomber with a $374,100 bonus in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He started off working for the Class A-Short Season State College.



College Spikes of the New York–Penn League. According to the Cardinals, he was one of the two Co-Minor League Pitchers of the Year in 2015.

Gomber signed with the Palm Beach Cardinals at the beginning of the year before getting promoted to the Springfield Cardinals in July 2016. He pitched seven innings in his second start for Springfield on July 30, 2016, against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

On April 29, 2018, the Cardinals moved Gomber up to long relief pitcher from Memphis. He was given the opportunity to go back to Memphis on May 4, but he did not show up.

On February 1, 2021, Gomber was traded to the Colorado Rockies, where he is now a player.
