Before transferring to Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School, he spent his freshman year at Abraham Lincoln High School. In high school, he participated in football.

He made a verbal commitment to play college football for Temple after high school, but subsequently changed his mind and reopened his recruitment.
