A Major League Baseball pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds, Connor Danford Overton was born in the United States on July 24, 1993. The Toronto Blue Jays and the Pittsburgh Pirates were two of his MLB teams.

During the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft, the Miami Marlins picked Overton in the fifteenth round. With the Low-A Batavia Muckdogs, Overton made his professional debut, tossing 17 innings for a 4.71 ERA.

The Marlins dismissed him on July 9, 2015, after he struggled to a 13.03 ERA in 8 games while playing for the Single-A Greensboro Grasshoppers to start the 2015 season.

Overton’s waiver claim was picked up by the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 6, 2021. Against the Cincinnati Reds on September 16, Overton threw 3.0 scoreless innings. By pitching 10.2 innings in that span, Overton set a record for the most innings in an MLB career without a run being scored.

On September 23, Didi Gregorius of the Philadelphia Phillies was hit by a home run, ending his streak at 13.2 innings. On September 28, Overton was placed on the disabled list due to a strained right shoulder, and he was later declared out for the year.

He made 9 appearances for the Blue Jays and Pirates, recording a combined 4.70 ERA in 15.1 innings pitched while striking out 15 batters. The 40-man roster officially removed Overton on November 6. On November 7, he decided to pursue free agency.
