Denzel Jeremiah Mims is a wide receiver for the New York Jets of the National Football League.  Mims received their secondary education at Daingerfield High School, located in Daingerfield, Texas.

He started both at wide receiver and safety for the team. Mims also competed in track and field and played basketball while he was in high school. He had a commitment to play collegiate football at Baylor University.

When Mims was a true freshman at Baylor in 2016, he participated in 11 games and had four receptions for a total of 24 yards. In 2017, as a sophomore, he was given a starting position. He finished the season with 61 receptions for 1,087 yards and eight touchdowns, starting 11 out of the team’s 12 games.



He played in all 12 games as a junior in 2018, starting 10, and he had 55 catches for 794 yards and eight touchdowns on those plays. In 2019, Mims returned to Baylor for his senior season and started all 13 games for the Bears.

He finished the year with 66 receptions, 1,020 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. His collegiate career came to a close in the 2020 Sugar Bowl, which featured a matchup between two teams with records of 11–2: the Baylor Bears and the Georgia Bulldogs.

During that game, Mims led the Baylor offense in receiving yards, ending with five receptions for 75 yards and scoring the lone receiving touchdown for the team. He finished the game with a total of 75 receiving yards. Georgia came out on top over Baylor with a final score of 26–14.
