Jermaine Curtis Johnson II, a defensive end with the National Football League’s New York Jets, was born on January 7, 1999. Before coming to Florida State in 2021, he played collegiate football at Georgia and Independence CC.
While there, he won the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award. With the twenty-sixth overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, Johnson was selected by the New York Jets.

In his first game for the Seminoles, a 41-38 overtime loss to Notre Dame, Johnson recorded seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Johnson was also named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week.
He concluded the year with 70 tackles, led the ACC with 18 tackles for loss, and recorded 12 sacks, earning him the titles of ACC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-ACC.
