Geno Stone plays as an American football safety with the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. He was born on April 19, 1999. He attended Iowa during his college football career and was selected by the Ravens in the seventh round of the NFL Draft in 2020.
In 2020, Stone also participated for the Houston Texans. Stone was raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and went to New Castle Junior/Senior High School.
While there, he participated in basketball and track & field as well as playing wide receiver, quarterback, and defensive back for the football team.
As a true freshman, Stone participated in all 13 of Iowa’s contests, primarily on special teams, and finished the year with 17 tackles and one interception.
He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten Conference during his sophomore season after making 39 tackles, forcing a fumble, breaking up three passes, and intercepting four passes, one of which he recovered for a touchdown.
In the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Stone was taken by the Baltimore Ravens with the 219th overall pick. On October 8, 2020, he was released, and two days later, he was re-signed to the practice squad.
On November 9 and November 14, he was added to the active roster for the team’s games against the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, respectively, and was then returned to the practice squad following each contest.
On December 29, 2020, the Houston Texans claimed Stone off waivers. Stone signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens on March 23, 2021, after the Texans declined to extend him a qualifying offer.
As the season went on, Stone received more playing time as the Ravens’ defense suffered multiple injuries.
