James Cook currently plays as a running back for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. He was born on September 25, 1999, and is currently 21 years old. While growing up in Georgia, he played collegiate football.
Miami Central Senior High School was where Cook attended high school while growing up in Miami, Florida. As a freshman, he had 99 carries for 709 yards and eight touchdowns.
Cook, a highly sought-after recruit, made his original commitment to play collegiate football at Florida State, where his brother was enrolled.
Later, in the summer before his senior year, he backed out of his commitment. After weighing offers from Louisville and Florida, Cook ultimately decided to sign a letter of intent to play for Georgia.
Cook was taken by the Buffalo Bills with the 63rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The brother of Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, the former Miami, Florida native saw his most fruitful year in 2021.
He contributed as a running back with 728 yards and seven touchdowns on 113 touches and as a receiver with 284 yards and four scores on 27 grabs.
One of Cook’s major advantages is that, unlike some of the other top running backs in the draft like Breece Hall of Iowa State and Kenneth Walker of Michigan State, he won’t have logged as many miles.
