Caleb Orobosa Benenoch, a guard for the New York Jets of the National Football League, was born on August 2, 1994. He attended UCLA during his collegiate football career and was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has previously played for the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, and New England Patriots.

Benenoch was born in Nigeria and played association football as a young child before relocating to Katy, Texas, at the age of nine. As his mother had signed him up for “football,” he accidentally began to play the American gridiron game.

From 2013 to 2015, Benenoch played collegiate football for the UCLA Bruins.



Benenoch was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round, 148th overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft. He took part in five games as a rookie, starting at right guard against the Chicago Bears in Week 10 to fill in for the injured Kevin Pamphile.

Benenoch started each of the Buccaneers’ 16 games in 2018 as their starting right guard.

Benenoch was cut by the Buccaneers on September 10, 2019.

Benenoch joined the New England Patriots on September 17, 2019. He was let go on October 1st, 2019.

Benenoch was taken off waivers by the Carolina Panthers on October 1 of this year. On October 22, 2019, he was released.

After Connor Williams suffered a season-ending injury, the Dallas Cowboys signed Benenoch on December 1, 2019. On December 14, 2019, he was released.

The Detroit Lions picked up Benenoch off of waivers on December 16, 2019. On August 23, 2020, the Lions cut loose Benenoch.

Benenoch joined the New England Patriots practice squad on September 12, 2020. On October 17, he was added to the active roster in time for the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Denver Broncos. He was then dropped to the practice squad following the game. On November 13, the group added him to the practice squad/injured list. On January 11, 2021, the end of the season marked the end of his practice squad contract with the team.

The Buffalo Bills signed Benenoch on August 4, 2021. On August 15, his release was announced.

Benenoch committed to the New Orleans Saints on August 18, 2021. On August 31, 2021, he was released and re-signed to the practice squad. On December 2, he was elevated to the roster of players who are currently playing.

Benenoch joined the New York Jets on August 8, 2022.
