James Ferentz is an American football centre who currently plays for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. Ferentz was born on June 5, 1989.

In 2014, the Houston Texans decided to take a chance on him and sign him as an undrafted free agent. He attended Iowa College and participated in football there.

In addition, he has experience playing with the Denver Broncos. Ferentz attended Iowa City High School in Iowa City, Iowa, where he participated in football.



He also competed in wrestling, finishing in second place at the state tournament for high school wrestlers in Iowa during his senior year.

Between the years 2008 and 2012, Ferentz was a student at Iowa, where he also participated in collegiate football. During his time at the University of Iowa, he was selected to the All-Big Ten second team.
