Isbel went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for her college basketball. He appeared in 170 games and 796 plate appearances throughout his three seasons at UNLV.

He had 40 doubles, 15 triples, 21 home runs, 110 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in his .322/.390/.512 batting average. The Royals selected Isbel in the third round of the MLB Draft in 2018 as a result of his outstanding collegiate career.

Isbel would play for the Lexington Legends, Idaho Falls Chukars, and Wilmington Blue Rocks as he worked his way up through the minor leagues.

In addition, he played for the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League. He hit .277/.352/.450 with 49 doubles, eight triples, 29 home runs, 117 RBIs, and 57 stolen bases in three minor league seasons.

On April 1st, 2021, Isbel made his Royals debut. Last season, he got to see baseball at its best, but he still needed to work on a few things. Before the end of the month, he’d be sent down to Triple-A Omaha.

One of the primary areas he concentrated on was his hitting, which led to offseason effort and has been on display at spring training.

Isbel has appeared in ten games so far. He has six hits, one triple, three home runs, nine RBIs, and a stolen base in spring, hitting .286/.400/.810 with six hits, one triple, three home runs, nine RBIs, and a stolen base.

Isbel is expected to make 242 plate appearances in 2022, according to Baseball-Reference. B-Ref expects to hit 21 times this season, with five doubles, three triples, one home run, seven RBIs, and two stolen bases.

Of course, this is extremely difficult to predict because injuries or transactions can result in more or less playing time. With everything in mind, it’s simple to imagine Isbel will have a big 2022 season and play a key role in this team’s future success.
