Bryan Lavastida is an American professional baseball catcher who currently plays with the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball. He was born on November 27, 1998, in Hialeah, Florida, United States. Lavastida is 23 years old at the time of this publication.

Lavastida played college baseball at Hillsborough Community College while attending Westland Hialeah Senior High School. The Cleveland Indians selected him in the fifteenth round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2018.

With the Indians of the Arizona League, Lavastida made his professional debut by batting.292 over 33 games. He played in 59 games in 2019 for the Lake County Captains and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, slashing.335/.410/.481 with two home runs and 38 runs batted in.



Due of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 season was postponed, hence he did not play. Prior to getting moved up to the Akron RubberDucks in 2021, he began the season with Lake County.

In September, he received a promotion to the Columbus Clippers. He hit.289/.380/.456 over 84 games for both clubs while adding nine home runs, 51 runs batted in, and 16 stolen bases.

On November 19, 2021, Lavastida was added to the 40-man roster of the Cleveland Guardians, the team’s new name.
He was added to the Opening Day roster, the Guardians revealed on April 2, 2022.
