Damien Williams is currently in his ninth season in the National Football League. He was initially signed by the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft and played for the team for four seasons.
The Dolphins signed Williams as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Before moving to Kansas City in 2018, the running back spent four years in Miami. There, he had the best two years of his career.
Williams received an uptick in game reps following Kareem Hunt’s release by the Chiefs. Williams and Kansas City agreed to a two-year, $8.1 million contract extension in December 2018.
Williams played in 27 games throughout the course of his two seasons with the Chiefs, racking up 754 running yards and a total of 13 touchdowns.
He also assisted Kansas City in winning a Super Bowl, a contest in which the running back stood out. Williams ran for 104 yards on 17 attempts, scoring on a 38-yard touchdown run. In the victory, he also grabbed four passes for 29 yards, including one for a touchdown.
Williams earned a rushing and receiving touchdown in addition to becoming the first player in Super Bowl history with at least 100 rushing yards.
