Damone Clark is an American football linebacker who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League.
Clark was born on June 28, 2000. He attended LSU for his college football career. Clark was born and raised in New Orleans until his family was forced to relocate to Baton Rouge,
Louisiana, in 2005 as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. It was at Southern University Laboratory School that he received his education.
During his junior year, Clark recorded a total of 48 tackles, five tackles for loss, four sacks and four interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.
During his first season with the organization, Clark participated in 12 games, primarily on special teams but also as a reserve linebacker behind starter Devin White.
As a sophomore, he participated in all 15 of LSU’s games and started three of them. He finished the season with 49 tackles and 3.5 sacks, helping the Tigers win the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020.
In preparation for his junior year with the Tigers, the coaching staff gave Clark the no. 18 jersey to wear in the team’s uniform. At the end of the season, he ended up tied for first place in the squad with 63 tackles.
During the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Clark in the fifth round, making him the 176th player overall to be selected.
