DaQuan Steven Jones is a defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. During the 2014 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected him in the fourth round to join their team.
Jones was born on December 27th, 1991 in the city of Johnson City, located in the state of New York. He went to Johnson City Senior High School, where he participated in a number of athletic activities, including football, basketball, and the shot put.
Jones made his commitment to Penn State on June 28, 2009, after being recruited by Mike McQueary. At the time, it was anticipated that Jones would play offensive guard for the Nittany Lions.
Jones was the starting defensive lineman for Penn State opposite Jordan Hill in 2012, his junior season, after seeing little action in his freshmen and sophomore campaigns. Jones finished the season with 22 tackles, two tackles for a loss, and a half sack. Jones decided to lose weight in the following offseason in order to gain speed. He lost 25 pounds and entered the 2013 season weighing 315 pounds.
Before the start of the 2013 season, a number of experts ranked Jones as the best defensive tackle in the game overall. Jones was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
