Kolby Kenneth Allard is a professional baseball pitcher in the United States. He was previously with the Atlanta Braves. In the first round of the 2015 MLB draft, the Braves selected him with the 14th overall choice.



Kolby Allard was born on August 13, 1997, in Anaheim, California, to Kenny and Kristi Allard. He has a younger sibling who lives with him. Allard began playing baseball when he was five years old and began pitching at the age of ten.

In San Clemente, California, Allard attended San Clemente High School. In 62+23 innings pitched as a junior, he had a 1.32 earned run average (ERA) and 98 strikeouts.



He pitched in the Perfect Game All-American Classic following the season and was awarded MVP after striking out the side in the inning he pitched.

He later played for the USA Baseball 18U National Team later in the summer. After suffering a stress fracture in his back, Allard’s senior season was cut short.

Allard was expected to be a top-10 choice in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft prior to his injury. He is committed to play baseball for the UCLA Bruins in college.

Allard was taken 14th overall in the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Atlanta Braves.

Lucas Herbert, a high school teammate, was also picked 54th overall by the Braves. On July 9, Allard signed a $3 million contract with the Braves.

In August of 2015, Allard joined the Gulf Coast League Braves as a pitcher. He was shut down for back surgery after three scoreless outings, which was termed as a “minor back procedure.”
