Matthew William Reynolds, an American professional baseball infielder with the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball, was born on December 3, 1990. He has previously played in Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals, Washington Nationals, and New York Mets.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reynolds attended Bishop Kelley High School. He played baseball and basketball, and Butler, Iowa State, and Furman all expressed interest in him as a potential collegiate basketball player.

At the 2012 College World Series, Reynolds makes at-bats.

But he made the decision to play collegiate baseball with the University of Arkansas’ Arkansas Razorbacks. From 2010 through 2012, he was the third baseman for Arkansas, where he hit.275/.382/.413 over 150 games played, with 11 home runs and 72 runs batted in.

He played college baseball with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League after his sophomore year in 2011.

The New York Mets selected Reynolds in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2012. After signing Reynolds, the Mets switched him to shortstop.

In his first season as a professional, he played with the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League’s A division, hitting.259 with three home runs in 42 games.

Reynolds agreed to a minor league deal with the New York Mets on December 1, 2021. When two other players were placed on the Covid-19 injury list on April 15, 2022, he was added to the Major League roster.
