Oberg’s season was over on August 19, 2019, when the Rockies placed him on the 60-day disabled list because of issues with blood clots in his arms.

Before the 2020 season began, Oberg was put on the 45-day disabled list due to blood clots in his right arm, ending his season early and preventing him from playing.

On March 26, 2021, Oberg underwent his third procedure to address blood clots, which involved removing them from his pitching elbow. After the surgery, Oberg was put on the 60-day injured list on March 27 and his career was in danger.

Oberg played college baseball for the Huskies for the University of Connecticut from 2009 to 2012. In 2009, he took part in the Bourne Braves’ collegiate summer baseball program of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

In 2013, he took part with the Modesto Nuts. In 2014 saw Oberg pitched in just 27 games for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers. For the first time in his career, Oberg posted an ERA under 5.00 in 66 games for the Rockies in 2017. He also had a career-high in strikeouts (4.94). (55).
