When did Ty Johnson get drafted?

In the sport of American football, Ty Marquise Johnson is a running back with the New York Jets of the National Football League. He attended Maryland University and was on the football team.

Johnson spent his childhood in the town of Cumberland, Maryland, and attended Fort Hill High School, where he graduated with the class of 2015. Johnson was a multi-year starter for the high school football team, contributing to the team in both the running back and defensive back positions.

Johnson led the Fort Hill Sentinels football team to consecutive titles (2013 and 2014) in the Maryland 1A State Football Championship during his junior and senior years at the school.



  Johnson received the Area High School Football Player of the Year award from the Cumberland Times-News after both of his seasons, and in 2014, he was selected to the Maryland High School Consensus All-State team by the Maryland High School Football Foundation.  

 During his two years as a full-time member of the varsity team, Johnson was responsible for nearly 5,000 all-purpose yards and 65 touchdowns.

The Detroit Lions selected Johnson in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft (186th overall). Johnson played his first NFL game in the Lions’ 27-27 tie with the Arizona Cardinals in the first game of the regular season. Johnson gained six yards on a carry.
