Where Are The Williams Family From?

Williams was a sophomore at Christian Brothers College High School when he transferred to Hazelwood West High School in Hazelwood, Missouri.

Williams was drafted by the  Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the 2013 MLB draft, with the 54th overall pick. He chose to sign with the Brewers for a $1.35 million signing bonus over enrolling at the University of Missouri.

Williams tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow during spring training in 2017. He had Tommy John surgery and missed the full season as a result. He was picked to represent the Brewers in the All-Star Futures Game in 2019.



The Brewers picked Williams’ contract and promoted him to the major leagues on August 5, 2019. On August 7, he made his debut at PNC Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Williams pitched to a 3.95 ERA in 13 appearances with the 2019 Brewers, striking out 14 batters in 13+23 innings thrown.

Williams has been selected as the National League Reliever of the Month for September 2020. He struck out 24 batters in 13 innings while allowing only four hits and no runs.

Williams was awarded MLB Reliever of the Year on October 5, 2020, after receiving 12 of 17 votes. Williams had a breakout year, finishing with an ERA of 0.33 while allowing only 18 hits in 27 innings and striking out 53 batters

Williams was born in Florissant, Missouri but grew up around Hazelwood. His family, which is his siblings and parents are from St. Louis, Missouri.
