Bryan Cook was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and went to Mount Healthy High School there. As a senior, he caught four catches for 110 yards and three touchdowns while also recording 35 tackles, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery in nine games on defence. He was also voted first-team All-Southwest Ohio Conference.



Cook was not heavily recruited and accepted Howard University’s invitation to be his college football team’s starting quarterback. Born on September 7, 1999, Bryan Cook plays safety in American football for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs (NFL).

Cook started his collegiate playing career with the Howard Bison. Over the course of two seasons, he participated in 21 games as a cornerback for Howard.



He recorded 93 tackles, five tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 17 passes defended, and five interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown of 41 yards.

Cook transferred to the University of Cincinnati to complete his collegiate career after his second year, via the NCAA transfer portal. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Cook in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 62nd overall.
