Born on October 9, 1991, Charles Leno Jr. is an American football offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football at Boise State and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Leno was a seven-year starter for the Bears, making the 2019 Pro Bowl with them, until being released in 2021 and signing with Washington.
Leno played basketball and football when a student at San Leandro High School in San Leandro, California, earning three varsity letters in each sport. As a senior, he earned first-team all-conference honours as an offensive lineman and second-team honours as a defensive end. Rivals.com rated him as a three-star prospect.
Leno attended Boise State University, where from 2009 to 2013 he played football for the Boise State Broncos. Throughout his career, he started 39 straight games at offensive tackle for the Broncos, starting the final 26 at left tackle. In his career, he was chosen for the first team of the Mountain West Conference as a senior and the second team as a junior.
On May 15, 2021, Leno agreed to a one-year contract with the Washington Football Team. He made all 17 of his starts for the 2021 campaign, and on January 5, 2022, he agreed to a three-year, $37.5 million contract extension.
Leno proposed to his fiancée Jennifer Roth at midfield on December 16, 2018, the day after the Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers to clinch the NFC North division title. Father to three daughters, Leno.
