Cole Holcomb plays linebacker for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. He played NCAA football for North Carolina and was selected by Washington, back when they were the Redskins, in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

As a walk-on, Holcomb took part in all 14 games during his first season, largely on special teams. Over the following three seasons, he participated in 35 games as he advanced to the role of starting middle linebacker.

He played inside linebacker during the NFL season. He was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on December 22, 2021, which forced him to miss the Cowboys’ Week 16 game. He was reinstated to the active roster on December 27.
