The National Football League’s New York Giants just so happen to have wide receiver Collin Johnson on their roster.
He is 1.98 m tall and 100 kilograms. He attended Valley Christian High School while he was a football player. In April 2014, he committed to enrolling at the University of Texas at Austin. While a student in Texas, he played football for the Texas Longhorns.
He took part in each game as a rookie. He played in every game as a sophomore, started nine of them, and finished the year with 54 catches. As Johnson approached his senior year, coach Tom Herman noted that he had significantly improved during the offseason.
He was added to the preseason watch lists for the Walter Camp Award, Wuerffel Award, and Biletnikoff Award.
For his gymnastics and 124 yards against TCU in the fourth week, Johnson was named National Player of the Week. On November 10, he suffered a slight knee injury and was unable to play against Texas Tech. The Big 12 Championship Game in 2018 saw him set a record with 177 receiving yards.
In the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Johnson was taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 165th overall pick. Injuries were added to the reserve list for him in January 2021.
In August 2021, the Jaguars cut him loose. Johnson was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants in September 2021. In August 2022, he was placed on injured reserve with a torn Achilles.
