Goedert played for the Jack Rabbits between 2013 and 2017. He started out when he was a senior. As a senior, he was the team captain and started each of the 14 games. He’s hauled in 72 passes for 1111 yards and seven scores.

He recorded 198 receptions for 2,988 yards and 21 touchdowns over the course of his career, including two consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards.
He had a total of 72 receptions for 1,111 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during his senior season, starting all 14 games and serving as team captain. Goedert was a two-time first-team FCS All-American during his time at South Dakota State, and in 2016 he made the finals for the Walter Payton Award, given to the best FCS player.
Goedert agreed to participate in the 2018 Senior Bowl at the conclusion of the 2017 campaign. He left the game, though, after suffering an injury in practice.
