Professional football safety Dane Belton represents the New York Giants of the National Football League. He stands 1.85 m tall and weighs 93 kg. Coming out of Jesuit High School, where he studied, he was a three-star prospect and a football player. He was voted second-team all-state as a junior after garnering honorable mention as a sophomore.

As a junior and a sophomore, he was also named to the first and second teams of the county teams, respectively. He played collegiate football for the Iowa Hawkeyes at the University of Iowa, where he attended. In eight games as a true freshman in 2019, four of which he started, he recorded 33 tackles, one sack, five passes disregarded, and one forced fumble.

By the league’s coaches and media, he was named honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2020. That season, he participated in all eight games and made a total of 19 solo tackles, 14 assists, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He announced that he would be participating in the NFL Draft in 2022 once the season ended. The 114th pick in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft went to the New York Giants, who selected Belton. His collarbone was broken in training camp in August 2022.
