Darrel Williams plays football professionally and is a running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He stands 1.80 m tall and weighs 102 kg. While a student at John Ehret High School, he participated in football. He amassed 2,036 yards and 27 touchdowns in his senior year of high school.

He was a four-star prospect and had offers from multiple institutions when he graduated from high school. The LSU Tigers were his collegiate football team at Louisiana State University, where he chose to enroll. He joined a rotation of four running backs as a freshman. As a senior, he made several starts.

After LSU’s 2017 season came to a conclusion, he consented to participate in the 2018 Senior Bowl. Following his failure to be chosen in the 2018 NFL Draft, Williams was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in May 2018. He had a total of 13 carries for 44 rushing yards in his rookie season, along with three receptions for 27 receiving yards and a touchdown.

He added another year to his Chiefs deal in March 2021. By the end of the 2021 season, he had 6 rushing touchdowns and a career-high 558 rushing yards. Additionally, on 47 receptions for 452 yards, he scored two receiving touchdowns. In May 2022, Williams committed to the Arizona Cardinals for a single season.
