He took involved in football while attending John Ehret High School. His senior year of high school saw him rack up 2,036 yards and 27 touchdowns.



When he graduated from high school, he was a four-star recruit and had offers from several colleges. His college football team at Louisiana State University, where he decided to enroll, was the LSU Tigers. As a freshman, he joined a group of four running backs in rotation. He started numerous games as a senior.

He agreed to play in the 2018 Senior Bowl after LSU’s 2017 season came to an end. Williams was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in May 2018 as an undrafted free agent after failing to be selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. In his first season, he had three receptions for 27 receiving yards, a receiving score, and a total of 13 carries for 44 rushing yards.



In March 2021, he extended his contract with the Chiefs for another year. He had a career-high 558 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns by the time the 2021 season was up. In addition, he scored two receiving touchdowns on 47 receptions for 452 yards. Williams signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals in May 2022.
