Jared Bernhardt plays for the Atlanta Falcons as a wide receiver in the National Football League.

Prior to that, he played one season of college football as a quarterback at Ferris State University as a part of the lacrosse team. He won the Tewaaraton Award as the nation’s best player.

Bernhardt is the son of Jim Bernhardt, a football coach at Hofstra, Brown, Central Florida, and Penn State, as well as the director of football research for the Houston Texans. He played football and lacrosse at Lake Brantley High School.

He was a triple-option quarterback and rushed for 1,457 yards and 12 touchdowns and passed for 751 yards and six scores in 11 games as a senior.

He was an All-American midfielder in lacrosse at Lake Brantley and was committed to playing for the University of Maryland as a sophomore in college lacrosse.

In late March 2022, Bernhardt worked out for the Maryland Terrapins football team as part of their pro day. The Denver Broncos welcomed him for a top-30 visit on April 7, 2022.

On April 30, 2022, shortly after the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons signed Bernhardt as an undrafted free agent. He made the Falcons’ initial 53-man roster out of training camp.
