When it comes to kicking, Jason Sanders is among the best in the country. Sanders was named a Mountain West All-Academic Team member in 2014 and 2015, as well as a Lobo Scholar-Athlete in 2014 and 2015.

He has kicked 81 straight extra points, which is a school record and has been placed on the Lou Groza Fall Watch List.

Has been arguably the finest kicker in the country, with a 59-for-59 extra-point record and an 11-for-12 field goal record, including eight consecutive makes.

Sanders’ 83.8 percent touchback rate is the best in the NFL. His 59 field goals were a huge improvement over the previous UNM record of 49.

He was named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week twice this season and had three tackles overall. Sanders kicked a perfect 6.0 PAT, 2.0 FG, and 8.0 KR in the season opener, earning him the trophy.

He kicked a 40-yard field goal with 1:06 remaining that proved to be the game-winner in a 24-21 victory over Utah State, and his three field goals helped him earn the award. Sanders was perfect on kickoffs (10/10 touchbacks) and field goals (1/1), both against ULM.

Where did Jason Sanders go to college?

Jason Sanders attended the University of New Mexico. At the University, he joined the New Mexico Lobos football team between the years of 2014 and 2017.

He kicked a career-long field goal of 53 yards and made 111 of 112 extra point tries throughout his college career.
