Defensive end for the American football team, Al’Malik Demichia Herring[1] was born on November 9, 1997. He recently signed with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs (NFL).
The Kansas City Chiefs took a chance on him as an undrafted free agent in 2021 after he played college football at Georgia. Malik Herring was born on November 9, 1997, in Forsyth, Georgia.
There, he attended Mary Persons High School and emerged as a four-star prospect upon completion of his secondary education.
He had offers from over twenty other schools, but he chose to study at the University of Georgia. As a freshman in 2017, Herring played in all 15 games and recorded 7 tackles.
The season after, in which he made 14 appearances, he recorded 24 tackles, two assisted sacks and two sacks overall.
Twelve of the fourteen games he played in were started by him as a junior. When the season was over, he was given the trophy for Georgia’s “Defensive Most Improved Player Award.”
He was a starter at defensive end in eight of the ten games the club played as a senior, and they won all but two of those contests.
Towards the end of the season, he tallied 20 tackles. After the Kansas City Chiefs saw that Herring went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, they decided to give him a shot by signing him as a free agent.
A torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) he suffered during college football’s Senior Bowl preparations landed him on the reserve/non-football injury list to start the new season.
He made his NFL debut against the Indianapolis Colts in week three of the season, a 20-17 loss. He recorded two tackles in his first NFL game.

He received his high school education from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia. Mary Persons High School is the only high school offered by Monroe County Schools.
He went to Georgia for his undergraduate education and played college football there. During his time there, he was recognized as Georgia’s “Defensive Most Improved Player Award” at the end of the season.
As a senior, he started at the defensive end for eight of the team’s 10 games, including eight of the team’s wins.
