Marcus Williams is a professional football player for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. He is a free safety for the team. He is 88 kilograms and 1.85 meters tall. At Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California, he played football as a wide receiver and defensive back for the Mustangs.

After turning down scholarship offers from Washington and California, two schools that were directly competing for him, he decided to play college football at the University of Utah. He watched football games involving the Utah Utes. He participated in every game in his first season at Utah in 2014, making six starts. He was chosen for the Pac-12 first team in 2015 with 13 starts, 65 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 65 total tackles.

He made a total of 188 tackles throughout his college career, and 11 of them were for interceptions. Many sports journalists and mock drafts projected that he would be selected in the first or second round. He was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the sixth safety in 2017.

He signed a four-year, $6.24 million contract with the New Orleans Saints in June 2017, which included a $2.67 million signing bonus and a $3.42 million guarantee. In March 2021, Williams was given the franchise tag by the Saints. On March 30, 2021, he acknowledged the one-year tender. Williams and the Baltimore Ravens came to an agreement on a five-year, $70 million contract in March 2022.
