Michael Gallup was part of the 2018 NFL draft class that was selected during the third round. The cornerback, who is a native of Atlanta, Georgia is currently in his fifth season with the Dallas Cowboys.

Gallup is a multi-sport athlete and his focus was not only on football. He attended Monroe Area High School in Monroe, Georgia, where he played football, baseball, basketball, and ran track.

As a junior, he switched his primary attention to football and began playing the quarterback position in a triple-option offense.

Gallup played both wide receivers and running back as a senior, compiling the following statistics: 28 receptions for 637 yards (an average of 22.8 yards), 10 receiving touchdowns, 37 carries for 484 yards (an average of 13.1 yards), and seven rushing touchdowns. Through his contributions, his team was able to move on to the next round of the Class 4A playoffs.

After high school, Michael Gallup attended Colorado State University and played college football for Colorado State Rams. Prior to joining Colorado, Gallup initially attended Butler Community College in order to boost his academic performance.

In Butler where he played for two seasons, he led the team with 780 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a freshman.

Due to an ankle injury, Gallup was limited to playing in only three games in 2015. He finished the year with nine receptions for 74 yards and a score.

During his first year at Colorado State University, he got off to a sluggish start in his first season, but after his third game against the University of Northern Colorado, when he had four receptions for 82 yards and one touchdown, he began to boost his performance.
