With the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, Tariq Castro-Fields plays cornerback professionally. He weighs 89 kilograms and is 1.85 meters tall. He played football and was the team captain as a senior at Riverdale Baptist High School. In 2013, he contributed to the group’s victory in the Independent Athletics Conference.

He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school but chose to play college football with the Penn State Nittany Lions squad at Pennsylvania State University instead. He participated in 12 games as a freshman and recorded 10 total tackles, three passes disallowed, and one interception. He played in 13 games as a sophomore, three of which he started.

San Francisco 49ers selected Castro-Fields in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was adopted by the Washington Commanders on August 31, 2022.
