Tyler Smith is an expert offensive tackle who plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League. At 1.98 m tall, he weighs 151 kg. He attended North Crowley High School, where he played football. He was honored for being a member of the first team all-district and the third team all-state during his junior year.

He decided to sign with Abilene Christian for his first college football commitment. Immediately after high school, he was a three-star recruit. He elected to decommit and play football for the University of Tulsa’s Tulsa Golden Hurricane team over offers from Houston, Navy, and New Mexico.

He played in the final four games of the season while redshirting his true freshman season in 2019. He was chosen to the first team of the American Athletic Conference in 2020 after starting all nine of the club’s games at left tackle during the season that was cut short by COVID-19 (AAC). Additionally, he was selected for the FWAA 2020 all-freshman team.

He declared that he would renounce his remaining collegiate eligibility and declare for the 2022 NFL Draft once the season ended. Smith was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
