On December 4, 2011, Tyrod Taylor participated in his first regular-season game, which ended in a victory over the Cleveland Browns.

He gained two yards on the run. On December 18, he made an appearance and threw an 18-yard touchdown pass in a regular season. When the Indianapolis Colts came to town, he also lined up as a wide receiver on one play.
